Porsche 911 Blu Edition is the newest birthday present that the German car maker will present to celebrate 50 years of 911. According to 911UK website, the special model will be unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show and will be the most environmentally friendly 911 in the history.

On the outside, the German model will feature a Riviera Blue body color with Guards Red accents on the air intakes, front spoiler, exterior mirrors and roof. In order to cut weight, the Stuttgart engineers have removed the classic roof and replace it with a composite one that has only 22 kilograms. More than that, the regular wheels were replaced with some special one wrapped in Michelin low rolling resistance tires.

Under the hood, the Porsche 911 Blu Edition will feature a tweaked 3.4 liter flat six unit. According to the same guys, the torque has remained unchanged at 287 Nm, while the power has been decreased from 350 HP to 300 horsepower. In these conditions the German model will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and the top speed will be of 266 km/h.

To improve the aerodynamics and the fuel consumption, Porsche has fitted in the 911 Blu Concept an active grille shutter system, an advanced start-stop function and an alternator that is capable of stopping during normal condition. The result is a combined fuel consumption of 6.4 liters per 100 kilometers and 152 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
