The German luxury car manufacturer BMW has recently started production of the third generation BMW X5 F15 at the Spartanburg factory in South Carolina.

The first unit who rolled out of the assembly line was an X5 M50d who was created for a European dealer. On the outside, the model has been painted with Mineral White while on the inside, the customer will get Nappa Mocha leather.

“Since 1999, the X5 has been a significant contributor to the Spartanburg plant’s global success. Our team will continue to build the next-generation X5 with the superior quality that our customers around the world have come to expect from South Carolina”, said Josef Kerscher, the BMW Manufacturing president.

The new 2014 BMW X5 F15 will be offered in three engine choices. The X5 xDrive50i will be powered by the reworked V8 4.4 liter petrol unit that outputs 450 horsepower and 650 Nm peek of torque.

The second option will be the X5 xDrive30d who has a revised six-cylinder in line diesel unit and can offer 258 HP and 560 Nm of torque. The last, but not the least is the BMW X5 M50d M Performance who has a tri-turbo diesel engine that can deliver 381 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque.

In December, the German car maker will add to the actual lineup the BMW X5 xDrive40d, BMW X5 xDrive35i, BMW X5 xDrive25d and BMW X5sDrive25d.
