The German car maker Daimler has unveiled the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Unimog truck. The new vehicle comes with a panoramic cab and is designed to work hard 24/7 on the off-road. According to German producer, the new Unimog comes with the Euro 6 engines, new power hydraulics and synergetic traction drive.
On the outside, the German truck has LED daytime running lights, new windscreen wipers that were mounted above the window for a better view. Inside the cockpit, the driver will have a larger instrument cluster, optimized control and a front camera monitor. Also in the cabin, you will find a removable joystick that can control various accessories.
Mercedes-Benz didn’t forget about the tires, a very important piece of this truck designed to go wherever you want. The German engineers have installed a pre-programmed mode for the tires that react whenever you change the driving surface.
According to Mercedes, the new Unimog range has change. Now, the entry-level version is now called the U 216 and U 218. Next in the range are the U 318, U 423, U 430, U 527 and U 530. The new Unimog names were formed like this: the first number is the vehicle size U 400 and the other two digits is the amount of horsepower that the engine can deliver (U 430 will deliver 300 HP).
As I say before, the new engines, either we speak about the four cylinder of the six cylinder ones are respecting the Euro VI rules and have the Blue Efficiency technology.
