Peugeot 308 R Concept will be officially unveiled this fall at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. These days, the French car maker has released a few pictures and has offered a series of details with the upcoming prototype.

On the outside, we see a very aggressive and a sporty concept designed to compete in the hot hatch segment. Renault is having the Megane RS, Ford is having the Focus ST, Opel is having the newly Astra OPC and now, and Peugeot will have the 308 R.

The exterior is dominated by the big radiator grille and spoiler. To draw attention, the French car manufacturer has decided to finish the body in two-tone: red on the front and black on the back. In the rear of the 2013 Peugeot 308 R Concept we see a dual exhaust and a roof mounted spoiler.

According to the French producer, the 2013 Peugeot 308 R Concept will come under the bonnet with the same engine used on the RCZ R. In these conditions we are talking about a 1.6 liter THP engine that can deliver 270 horsepower at 6.000 rpm and 330 Nm peek of torque at 1.900 rpm. The engine resources will be managed by a manual six speed gear box via a Torsen differential.

According to the press release, the upcoming 2013 Peugeot 308 R Concept will have a fuel consumption of just 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers with CO2 emissions of 145 grams per kilometer.

For a better handling the French prototype was lowered by 26 millimeters and it comes with 19 inch alloy rims wrapped in 235/35 tires. The braking system was also replaced with one signed by Alcon that comes with 380 mm discs on front and 330 mm discs at the rear.
