The 2014 BMW X5 M50d was launched ahead of 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show debut. A few weeks ago, the German car manufacturer has unveiled the new generation of its Sports Activity Vehicle and now, they are presenting the most powerful diesel in the line-up dressed and modified by the M Division.

The new 2014 BMW X5 M50d is scheduled to arrive in the dealerships on November 16 and it has a lot to offer. First of all we will talk about the exterior. After the specialists from M Division put some magic dust on the Bavarian SAV we see a more aggressive and sporty car.

On the outside we see a new front spoiler with a modified grille and headlights. Moving on, the side skirts were updated, while in the rear there is a sporty air diffuser and a new spoiler.

Under the hood of the 2014 BMW M5 50d is a tri-turbo 3.0 liter unit that can deliver 381 horsepower (289 kW) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) peek of torque. The engine resources are put to the ground thanks to an eight speed automatic transmission via an xDrive all wheel drive system.

In these conditions, the new generation of the X5 M50d can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, 0.1 second faster than its predecessor.

According to BMW, the new performance version of the X5 can do 100 kilometers with 6.7 liters of fuel and 177 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The same press release is saying that the upcoming 2014 BMW X5 M50d is 10 percent more economical that the current generation.

In standard, the Bavarian SAV comes with Adaptive M suspension with Dynamic Damper Control and air suspension at the rear axle. For those who want more agility on the track, BMW is offering an optional Dynamic adaptive suspension pack with Dynamic Performance Control and Dynamic Drive active roll stabilization.
