The German car manufacturer Volkswagen has unveiled today a new promotional video of the upcoming 2014 Golf R. The German hothatch will be officially unveiled, next week, at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

According to Volkswagen, the new range-topping model can offer 300 horsepower from a 2.0 liter turbo engine with foul cylinder. It is 30 HP stronger and 18 per cent more fuel efficient than the previous model. The power is put to the ground via an all wheel drive system: the latest version of the 4MOTION system with Haldex coupling.

For o more dynamic and sporty handling the new 2014 Volkswagen Golf R has a body height lowered by 20 millimeters and an ESC Sport which can be fully deactivated for a more thrilled sensation on the race track.

Equipped with a manual gear box the new 2014 Volkswagen Golf R can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, 0.6 seconds faster than its predecessor. With a DSG transmission, the German sports car can go from not to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. According to the German car maker, the top speed was electronically limited to 250 km/h.
