The German car manufacturer Audi has been officially unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show the brand new 2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet. The new Ingolstadt-based model is larger and lighter than its predecessor and its coming with a soft top that can be operated at speeds of up to 50 km/h.

According to the German manufacturer, the soft top can be opened or closed in 18 seconds. If you don’t want the base version, you can ask for an “acoustic top”. It will diminish interior noise thanks to a foam layer.

As we previously told, the new 2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet has grown compared to the outgoing model. It is 4.42 meters long, 1.79 meters wide and 1.41 meters tall. The wheelbase was also increased to 2.60 meters. Thanks to these new figures, the A3 Cabriolet is offering more interior space for all four occupants. The luggage compartment was also increased with 60 liters.

Under the hood, the new 2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet is coming with a 1.4 TFSI petrol unit that can offer 140 horsepower. The next mill in the offer is the 1.8 TFSI engine with 180 horsepower. Moving on we will find the 2.0 liter diesel unit that is delivering 150 horsepower.

Later, the German car maker will offer a 1.6 TDI with 110 horsepower and a 2.0 TFSI petrol unit with 300 horsepower which will be managed by a 6 speed S tronic transmission. In these conditions, the 2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet will be able to sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.

According to the German producer, the sales will start this fall at a price tag of 31.700 Euros.
