We have seen the Alfa Romeo 4C as a concept, a pre-production model, then the manufacturer released lots of teasers, and we still love it. Now all we have to do is to wait for the big moment and be jealous on the lucky few people who will actually own these beauties. Alfa Romeo 4C, arguably the most interesting Alfa since the 8c Competizione, will arrive in European dealerships in October. The American premiere will be in November, at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Alfa Romeo 4C is the brainchild of Alfa Romeo engineers, and it will be built in Modena, at the Maserati plant. Every sign shows that the Alfa Romeo 4C will be a true supercar. Its small, 4-meter body is made of carbon fiber, and houses a mid-mounted, 236hp (240PS) 1.75-liter turbocharged inline four driving the rear wheels through an Alfa TCT dry twin clutch automatic transmission.

It is more than likely the PR team had a really easy job when they had to write the press releases for the Alfa Romeo 4C. The car has very good performance: it goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in just 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 258 km/h (160mph). Moreover, it is capable of deceleration of 1.2 g and lateral acceleration peaks over 1.1 g, and it is extremely well balanced, with 40% of its weight on the front and 60% onthe rear axle.

The car will be fitted with a DNA selector, a TFT instrument panel, and separate gauges for turbo pressure, oil temperature and Gmeter. It will have fabric sports seats, and the leather steering wheel comes with shift paddles. The standard equipment is completed by alloy wheels, grey brake calipers and twin exhaust pipes.

With an estimated price of €60,000 ($80,000) and a production of only 3,500 units, the Alfa Romeo 4C will be a true supercar: at the same time a collector’s piece and a great toy for people who want to drive it on the racetrack.
