As November and the Los Angeles Auto Show approaches, we know more and more about the BMW 4 Series Convertible. The spy shots of the convertible are already circling around, and now the German manufacturer released the details of its new sport cabriolet. Just as we expected, the BMW 4 Series Convertible is basically the topless version of the 4 Series coupe.

The BMW 4 Series Convertible will have two engines. The smallest 428i comes with the well-known 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine. This engine has a power output of 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque, and the car is available with rear- or front-wheel drive. With a sprint from 0 to 60 in 6.2 seconds, the 428i is ideal for hobby drivers who want to have some fun, but don’t want to get into serious trouble.

The 435i is a more serious business. This version comes with a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged inline-six that produces 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of twist, and this power is brought to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This engine is definitely a good option for those who’d like to put in more serious driving into their BMW 4 Series Convertible.

Just like the previous model, the BMW 4 Series Convertible comes with a three-piece folding hardtop. For this year, the manufacturer added some extra padding, so the wind noise is somewhat reduced. One can expect to fold the roof in approximately 20 seconds. For those who like to drive top down even if the weather is cold, there are three-temperature neck warmers for the front seats.

The interior of the BMW 4 Series Convertible is very much the same as the coupe version, featuring the same technology and infotainment found in the rest of the 4 Series range. The BMW 4 Series Convertible comes in three trims: Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport.
