Mercedes has introduced the S600 model at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show this week. The 2015 S-Class sedan will once again offer a V12 engine that has 13 more horsepower than its predecessor.

So the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 boasts a 523 horsepower, 612 lb-ft. of torque, which peaks at just 1,900 rpm. Also, the new unit displaces 6.0 liters instead of 5.5 liters this time around. Although performance specifications were not released, Mercedes confirmed the model has a start/stop system which enables it to average 11.1 L/100 km.

Being the top-of-the-line the 2015 S600 has a lighter and stiffer body, plus a host of luxury, convenience and safety upgrades. So, the S600 comes equipped with the LED Intelligent Light System, Magic Body Control, a Driving Assistance Plus package that includes Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and BAS PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist.

The new Mercedes-Benz S600 will go on sale in the spring, as a 2015 model.

“The S-Class has always been the embodiment of our claim to deliver the very best in terms of both technology and design and our flagship model, the S 600, epitomizes the focus of our development work, the ‘Essence of Luxury’, in a way that no other model can. Our customers in North America and Asia in particular will enjoy this new top model with its exciting V12 engine”, said Ola Kallenius, Mercedes’ Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
